400 Students Head to ‘Work’ for Career Day

More than 400 high school students are scheduled to spend today with a career professional as part of the fifth annual Moorpark College Ground Hog Job Shadow Day.
Students from Moorpark, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, La Reina and Oak Park high schools will tag along with employees at local manufacturing and computer companies, hospitals, medical offices and elementary schools.
At Moorpark College, high school students will observe teachers, animal trainers, television production operations and food service workers.
Moorpark College student Homero Magana, director of campus events for the Associated Students group, will shadow college President James Walker.
