Police recaptured a murder defendant who had been mistakenly released from a St. Louis jail after he switched identities with another inmate.
Derrick Boothe was captured without incident at the home of his girlfriend, 18, who was arrested and expected to be charged with harboring a fugitive, police said.
Boothe, 25, was mistakenly released from a medium-security jail Friday after he switched jail ID wristbands with a teenage drug suspect, authorities said.
Boothe was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the April killings of a police officer’s son and another man.
