2 Separate Bomb Scares Cause LAX Evacuations

Two bomb scares caused evacuations at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday.
The first occurred when an explosives detection machine signaled a suspicious package about 11 a.m. Passengers were evacuated from Terminal 2 and the upper-level roadway outside it. About two hours later, an LAPD bomb squad determined the package contained no explosives.
The second evacuation occurred in part of Terminal 2 from about 4:45 to 6 p.m. when an unidentified tin was found. The bomb squad found that it contained cookies.
