Girl, 17, Killed in Pedestrian Accident

A 17-year-old girl was struck by a car Saturday night while crossing 17th Street in Santa Ana and died of her injuries, police said.
Brenda Silva was crossing in the 2700 block of 17th Street about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Coroner’s officials said Silva suffered severe head injuries. Police said the driver of the vehicle was released at the scene. The accident was under investigation.
