Police Chase Ends With 2 Arrests

Two men were arrested Monday on suspicion of stealing a car and leading police on a short chase before crashing into a patrol car, officials said.
Anthony Smith, 19, of Burbank was jailed on suspicion of auto theft, assault with a deadly weapon, providing police with false identification and possessing marijuana. His bail was set at $60,000.
Jason Kahn, 27, of Simi Valley was being held on suspicion of auto theft and providing false identification. He was held without bail because his arrest violates the terms of his parole from state prison, authorities said.
Shortly before 1 a.m., the pair stole a Ford Mustang from the 1000 block of Standford Drive in Simi Valley and drove down Sycamore Drive before arriving at a dead-end, making a U-turn and ramming a pursuing police car, authorities said.
The pursuing Simi Valley police officer, Chris Martin, was not injured.
