A mother has been charged with first-degree murder for leaving her two children inside her sweltering car for more than three hours while she went to have her hair done, police said.
Tarajee Maynor, 25, of Detroit remained jailed without bond.
Her daughters, 10-month-old Acacia, and 3-year-old Adonnis, died Friday after being left alone in her black compact car for more than three hours, police said.
Maynor was arraigned Sunday on two counts each of first-degree murder and felony child abuse. She is due back in court July 10. If convicted, she faces automatic life in prison without possibility of parole.
