Donna McArthur will be a busy woman tonight.
The trainer will send out a 2-year-old in each of the eight trials (races 3-10) for the $1-million Ed Burke Memorial Futurity. The 10 fastest qualifiers will return for the 350-yard final, which will be run July 27.
Morning Snow, who upset stablemate Lonely Moon Sign in the Kindergarten on May 18 for McArthur and owners Charles and Dixie Patterson, is in the fifth trial.
Three races earlier, Lonely Moon Sign, who suffered his first loss in the Kindergarten after two powerful wins, will try to qualify.
McArthur’s other trial participants: Devine Diva in the first, Calabogie in the third, Style N Grace in the fourth, First A Princess in the sixth, First Down Chicky in the seventh and First Steps Special in the eighth.
The picks: 1. Gerry’s Reality. 2. By Gone. 3. Stel Corona. 4. Lonely Moon Sign. 5. Straw Flying Dash. 6. Special Queen SA. 7. Morning Snow. 8. Got Some Fortune. 9. Shenozshesroyal. 10. Red Lipstick. 11. First Cash Caress.
Four! Single Gerry’s Reality in the first, use all in the second, Stel Corona and Ipomea in the third and use Lonely Moon Sign and Suzy Cartel in the fourth.
Shots in the dark: Throwin A Fit is better than his last would indicate and could wake up for trainer Blane Schvaneveldt in the fifth. Secretary For Life adds Lasix for trainer Danny Cardoza as she makes her second start in the eighth.
