Dentist Pleads Not Guilty to Array of Drug Charges

A Camarillo dentist has pleaded not guilty to charges he sold marijuana from his office and wrote unauthorized prescriptions for painkillers and other addictive drugs.
James Obrien, 55, was the subject of a two-month investigation by a team of narcotics detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and Ventura Police Department. The probe was sparked by a tip.
Authorities seized an ounce of marijuana Obrien had allegedly sold, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Garcia.
The California Board of Dental Investigations was notified of Obrien’s arrest, Garcia said.
