A 32-year-old resident filed a $75-million legal claim against the city of Inglewood on Wednesday, alleging that he was abused by police. Neilson Williams said he suffers from physical and mental damage from a run-in with Inglewood officers outside a park June 23.
Williams said Officer Jeremy Morse, arrested for allegedly abusing a boy July 6, was among those who left him unconscious. Williams, who was hospitalized for three days, was not arrested.
Inglewood police said the department’s internal affairs team and the district attorney are investigating, and did not comment other than to say Williams sparked the confrontation.
