A motorist was killed Saturday in Irvine after losing control of his sport utility vehicle, which veered onto the wrong side of the road and overturned three times, police said.
The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. on Culver Drive, between Barranca Parkway and Warner Avenue, said Irvine police. Witnesses told police the man’s Toyota 4-Runner was traveling south on Culver when it veered onto the center divider. The vehicle, police said, swerved into the northbound lanes and rolled over and over before coming to a halt.
The driver, who was not carrying ID, was killed at the scene.
