“Austin Powers in Goldmember” was rated PG-13, but that didn’t stop it from being voted favorite movie of the year at the Nickelodeon’s 16th annual Kids’ Choice Awards.
Other big winners in the ceremony at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica Saturday night were Adam Sandler and Amanda Bynes, who picked up two awards each.
Sandler was named favorite movie actor for “Mr. Deeds” and favorite voice from an animated film for “Eight Crazy Nights” (also rated PG-13). Bynes won as best movie actress for “Big Fat Liar” and favorite TV actress for “The Amanda Show” and “What I Like About You.”
Voting was done by phone and on Nickelodeon’s Web site. The cable channel said that 22 million children participated.
The Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire” took the prize for favorite TV show, and Frankie Muniz was selected favorite TV actor for “Malcolm in the Middle.”
In the music categories, the winners were B2K for favorite music group, Ashanti for favorite female singer, Nelly for favorite male singer and No Doubt for favorite band.
Ice skater Michelle Kwan was chosen favorite female athlete. Skateboarder Tony Hawk got the nod as favorite male athlete.
