Bauer Moves from Littlerock to Knight

Palmdale Knight High, which will open in the fall with only freshmen, has begun to build its coaching staff by selecting Jim Bauer as athletic director and football coach.
Bauer, who is athletic director and football coach at Littlerock, which he helped open in 1989, will bring along three coaches from the school: Del King, wrestling; Tammie Furman, swimming, and Tammy Zimmardi, softball.
In addition, Antelope Valley’s Tom Hegre will coach boys’ basketball, Mark Groh, who was the first boys’ basketball coach at Littlerock, will coach cross-country, and Ryan Branch, an assistant basketball coach at Palmdale and former baseball coach at Antelope Valley, will coach baseball and girls’ golf at Knight.
Other coaches include Tom Mahan, a former basketball coach at Antelope Valley, for boys’ golf, and Mary Anderson for boys’ and girls’ volleyball.
In other coaching news:
* Adam Vick, the Fullerton boys’ and girls’ swimming and water polo coach, will resign at the end of the spring season.
* Ron Hansen, girls’ basketball coach at Irvine Northwood the last two seasons, announced his resignation.
Three Times’ all-star football players have been selected to the rosters for the 44th Orange County North-South All-Star game on July 11 at Orange Coast College.
Los Alamitos quarterback Jeff Kline, who threw for 2,059 yards, will lead the North squad and Tustin linemen Sam Baker and Chris Barrett will play for the South. Baker and Barrett have signed with USC.
