Animal Shelter Plans

Re “Hahn Plans Phaseout of Pet Shelter Euthanasia,” Aug. 15: I cannot tell you how thrilled I was -- that is, until I read that temperament tests for animals “could include poking dogs while they are eating and assessing the sociability of cats.” It also stated that the Animal Services Commission has asked the department to come up with revised testing plans. I have a great plan. Have the personnel who poke the dogs sit down for lunch. While they are eating, have volunteers poke them, and let’s see how they react.
