Pacific shuffle: Assistant conductor Michael Hall will lead the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Baroque music programs tonight and Thursday at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Hall replaces Italian conductor and violinist Giuliano Carmignola, who has canceled because of tonsillitis. Mark Kaplan will replace Carmignola as the soloist in Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”

Theater awards: Ed Begley Jr.’s “Cesar and Ruben” musical about Cesar Chavez won five ADA (Artistic Director Achievement) awards -- more than any other production -- from the San Fernando Valley-based Valley Theatre League in a ceremony Monday at El Portal Theatre. “The Woman in Black” and “Blockage” won four awards each.
