U.S. Warns Travelers of Terrorism Risk

U.S. officials are telling holiday travelers to be vigilant because of the threat of terrorist attacks, a warning prompted in part by an increased volume of ominous intercepted communications that hasn’t quieted in months.
The significance of the chatter is unclear, and it has been frustratingly short on specifics -- no credible information to suggest a time, target or method of attack, officials said.
Much of the threatening information suggests attacks directed at U.S. interests in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, officials said. But officials also believe that Al Qaeda operatives pose a threat in the United States.
