Officials Say Bombs Killed More Civilians

Afghan officials and villagers reported fresh civilian deaths in U.S.-led bombing attacks against suspected militants in Helmand province.
But the U.S. military said that it was unaware of any civilian casualties and that several suspected Taliban militants had been killed.
A spokesman for the government of Helmand said there were more civilian deaths in the latest bombing raids. A villager said he had seen the bodies of eight members of one family. At least 17 civilians reportedly died in attacks earlier this week.
