Staged readings of ‘Mockingbird’

The Beverly Hills Community Theater will present free staged readings of Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the City Hall council chamber, 455 N. Rexford Drive in Beverly Hills.
The readings are part of the city of Beverly Hills’ and Los Angeles magazine’s “Read-Around Program” featuring Lee’s classic novel. The program also includes a free “Martin Luther King Jr. Day / Civil Rights Panel Discussion,” with civil-rights activist Joe Hicks, at the same location on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
