Members of a union representing about 2,700 non-tenure-track lecturers at the University of California have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a contract agreement reached last month.
The contract, which takes effect today, was approved by about 85% of the nearly 600 voting union members, said Kevin Roddy, a UC Davis lecturer and president of the University Council-American Federation of Teachers.
The three-year contract provides retroactive pay increases of 3.5% to 4.5%.
