Orange County firefighters on Saturday blamed a duel between users of illegal fireworks for a brush fire near Monarch Bay that threatened three homes and burned about two acres.
About 40 firefighters and 10 fire engines battled the blaze, which was reported at 9:33 p.m. Friday, said Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Miller.
He said that one young man had been arrested on suspicion of interfering with firefighters.
No one was injured and no homes were damaged.
