Celebrating the family

Hooray for Lorna Luft for finally being able to pay tribute to the world’s greatest entertainer, her mother Judy Garland (“Songs in a Family Album,” by Irene Lacher, July 13). The tumultuous life she had while growing up, and then to be a part of Garland’s act, while just a teenager, in those later years -- no wonder she had a hard time finding the right path. Thank God she did.
Her show is a wonderful tribute without being overdone in a sentimental show-bizzy way. I plan to see it again at the Canon. It’s too bad that Dad, Sid Luft, can’t accept that Lorna had every right in the world to write her book and then do this show. Nobody can tell the story from Lorna’s point of view except Lorna. If Dad wants to tell his story too, who’s to stop him?
