13 Vehicles Seized in Prostitution Sting

Police seized 13 vehicles last weekend under a new city law that allows authorities to confiscate the vehicles of people arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitutes.
Police also arrested 20 people in the sting operation, in which officers posed as prostitutes.
People arrested under the law, which became effective Feb. 6, get their autos back after 30 days. If they are arrested a second time, the city keeps and later sells the vehicles.
Since the law went into effect, 27 vehicles have been seized.
