A blocked sewage line caused a 100-gallon spill Monday, forcing the closure of a portion of Newport Bay to water sports, county health officials said.
Swimming and diving, among other activities, are not allowed in the waters from J through L streets until cleanup is complete and testing shows that bacteria levels have returned to acceptable levels, according to Orange County Health Care Agency officials.
