Family Sentenced for Growing Marijuana

A former Des Moines Area Community College president, accused with his wife and children of growing marijuana in their suburban home, was sentenced to two years’ probation.
David England, 50, and his wife, Donna, 49, also were ordered to perform 100 hours of community service. Their daughter, 23, and son, 17, were placed on probation.
They were arrested March 12 after a police search of their home found baggies of marijuana worth about $2,500, as well as trays of marijuana seedlings.
