KCET brings back A.M. arts program

Good news for night owls: KCET-TV is bringing back Classic Arts Showcase, an eclectic programming block that features video clips of dance, opera, orchestral music and other arts performances.
Classic Arts Showcase filled the wee-morning hours on the public TV station for nearly four years but then was dropped in 2000 in a cost-cutting move. Now, with some new funding in place, it is scheduled to return July 1.
The programming will run nightly from 12:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., except on Thursdays, when the station says it will be dark for transmitter maintenance.
