2 Kidnapped U.N. Observers Are Released

Two United Nations military observers kidnapped in northeastern Congo were released, a spokeswoman for the U.N. mission said.
Patricia Tome said the two, a Russian and a Tunisian, had been flown by helicopter to the town of Beni from Kamango, 19 miles to the northeast. Officials said the observers had been kidnapped by “militant nongovernment groups.”
