Courthouse Security Reviewed After Attacks

San Joaquin County officials are reviewing courthouse and jail security after the second attack on court officials in two days.
On Friday, a convicted bank robber allegedly threw a piece of metal at Superior Court Judge Clark Sueyres and tried to attack a lawyer at the courthouse, even though the convict was handcuffed and shackled to a chair.
On Thursday, a deputy district attorney was bruised and scratched, allegedly by a man awaiting sentencing under the state’s three-strikes law after a stalking conviction.
The incidents are prompting an investigation into how inmates are transported and guarded, said a spokesman.
