Motorcyclist Dies After Crash in Hills

A 42-year-old San Fernando man died Friday night after crashing his motorcycle in the hills near Simi Valley and then being struck by a passing car, authorities said.
Thomas Hequet lost control of his 1997 Harley-Davidson about 11 p.m. Friday on Santa Susana Pass Road, just west of Box Canyon Road, authorities said. Seconds after the crash, a passing motorist hit him as he was lying in the roadway, authorities said.
Hequet died at the scene from major head injuries. A friend traveling with Hequet who was on a separate motorcycle was not injured, nor was the driver of the car. No citations were issued and the crash remained under investigation.
