Pirates Get Wild Win

PITTSBURGH — Abraham Nunez tripled and scored on Dan Miceli’s wild pitch, and the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied three times to beat the Cleveland Indians, 7-6, Saturday -- their second 15-inning game in a row.
The last time two teams played consecutive 15-inning games was June 18-19, 1996, when the Florida Marlins and San Francisco Giants did it.
Nunez, batting .210, tripled down the right-field line to start the 15th against Miceli (1-1), the Indians’ sixth pitcher, and Kenny Lofton was walked intentionally.
Miceli’s one-and-two pitch to Jason Kendall bounced over catcher Josh Bard, who had no play on Nunez, who scored easily.
Scott Sauerbeck (2-4) pitched a scoreless 15th after Julian Tavarez pitched five hitless innings.
The Indians squandered leads of 3-0 and 5-1.
