Detroit Mayor Cleared of Misconduct Charges

State Atty. Gen. Mike Cox said he would not bring charges against Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his security force, saying there was no evidence to back allegations of misconduct.
Kilpatrick came under scrutiny after a deputy police chief said the mayor fired him in May for investigating allegations of drunk driving, falsified overtime records and a cover-up by two security detail members.
