Traffic Commissioner Arrested in DUI Case

A city commissioner who helps form regulations on traffic and transportation has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he ran his SUV into a tree, police said.
Mark Burkhardt, 40, was not injured in the 8:22 p.m. collision Friday at South Esplanade Street and East La Veta Avenue, Orange police said.
Burkhardt, a real estate agent, told police he was reading the text on his pager when he veered off the street into the tree.
