Man in Wheelchair Killed in Robbery

A 36-year-old man in a wheelchair was shot and killed Saturday during an attempted robbery, police said.
Jorge Garcia and a friend were on Van Nuys Boulevard near Telfair Avenue about 6 a.m. when two men in a red sport utility vehicle with a gray stripe drove up to them, police said.
One of the men, both in their 20s, demanded money and then shot Garcia.
Garcia died on the way to a hospital, police said.
