A Lot of Star-Gazing in Store

DALLAS — The Kings better get used to seeing Stars.

Including Friday, the Kings play Dallas three times in eight games, an unusual glut of games even though both teams are in the Pacific Division. The Kings, who lost Friday at American Airlines Center, 3-1, are again at Dallas on Nov. 30. They play host to the Stars on Dec. 4.

“If you want to make the playoffs, you better get some points off them, and they’re probably saying the same thing about us,” King Coach Andy Murray said.

Murray, however, downplayed the significance of playing Dallas so many times in so few days.

“I haven’t mentioned that to the team,” he said. “I hardly know who we’re playing the next game. I haven’t even looked at that.”

Center Jozef Stumpel will not play until at least Thursday against the Phoenix Coyotes. Stumpel has been out since Oct. 25 with a chest injury. “His body doesn’t cooperate quite as much as some other bodies cooperate,” Murray said.... Enforcer Kip Brennan will play tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.... The Kings have added KTIE (590) in San Bernardino to their radio network.

Update -- Peter Forsberg (abdomen) and Paul Kariya (wrist) aren’t expected to play tonight, but injuries haven’t stopped the Avalanche from a 7-0-1-1 run. Winger Alex Tanguay is tied for the NHL scoring lead with 27 points and goaltender David Aebischer has done well in his first season as a full-timer, going 11-3.
