What’s the Deal, Dan?

I get a kick out of listening to sports radio and the daily rumors of possible Dodger deals. Don’t they realize that dawdlin’ Dan Evans never makes a move until only the mediocre players are left?
Wow, the Dodgers might get slugger Richie Sexson! (The Giants pick up an All-Star catcher.) Hey, did you hear? They might deal for Derrek Lee! (Billy Beane steals a Padre outfielder.) Oh, man! The Blue might sign a superstar Japanese shortstop! (The Red Sox deal for Curt Schilling.) Oh, baby!
The Dodgers are talking about dealing Odalis Perez for Paul Konerko! Now there’s a deal that might really happen. A young star pitcher for a guy who hit .234, ended the season in a three-for-49 slump, and grounded into the most double plays in either league? That has Dan Evans written all over it!
