Diller to Use Vivendi Stake to Raise Cash
- Share via
Barry Diller, whose company InterActiveCorp owns a $2.5-billion stake in Vivendi Universal’s U.S. entertainment unit, said he expected to either sell the stake or use it as collateral to borrow cash this year.
Vivendi’s U.S. unit owns the Universal film studio and theme parks and cable-television networks USA, Sci-Fi and Trio, which Diller sold to Paris-based Vivendi last year.
Vivendi is negotiating final terms of a sale of the Vivendi Universal Entertainment unit to General Electric Co.’s NBC-TV network.
