Lawyer Pleads Guilty in Tobacco Fraud Case

A lawyer indicted with former state Atty. Gen. Dan Morales pleaded guilty to mail fraud for his efforts to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in fees from the state’s tobacco settlement.
Marc Murr pleaded guilty in Austin to one count of mail fraud under a deal with prosecutors that will send him to prison for six months. In July, Morales pleaded guilty to mail fraud and tax evasion and is expected to get four years in prison.
