Pomona Resident Is Killed at Quinceanera

A Pomona man was fatally shot Saturday outside a gymnasium that had been rented for a birthday celebration, police said.
The victim was identified as Luis A. Segura, 24.
The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. at a Boys & Girls Clubs of Placentia-Yorba Linda facility in the 100 block of East Crowther Avenue in Placentia, said police Sgt. Gene Stuckenschneider.
The shooting occurred during a quinceanera, a traditional Latino celebration of a girl’s 15th birthday.
The shooting was being investigated as a gang crime, Stuckenschneider said.
