From Associated Press

John Thomson (2-2) combined with two relievers on a six-hitter, and the host Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-0, Sunday to finish a three-game sweep.

With Thomson’s seven shutout innings, Atlanta starters have a 2.46 earned-run average, second in the majors to Florida’s 2.39. The Braves rank near the bottom of the National League with a .241 batting average.

“Look at our batting average and look at our record, and it doesn’t match up,” first baseman Adam LaRoche said.
