Re “Cunningham’s Fall From Grace, Power,” Dec. 5
Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-Rancho Santa Fe) sold his soul so he could live in a big house. Now he’s looking at 10 years in the Big House. Poetic justice, no?

The story Dec. 3 in the California section stating, “Under Office of Personnel Management rules, Cunningham can keep his congressional pension despite the guilty plea,” is as clear an indication of the corruptive behavior of our elected officials as anyone might invent.
Clearly, no elected official should receive benefits that are denied to those who elect them. Clearly, the rules of the Office of Personnel Management must be changed.
