Country music performers Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood married over the weekend in a private ceremony at their Oklahoma home, a publicist for the couple said.
Brooks, 43, and Yearwood, 41, exchanged vows before family members, said publicist Nancy Seltzer.
“They said it is the perfect Christmas gift to each other and they couldn’t be happier,” Seltzer said.
She declined to give any other details of the ceremony.
Brooks, who announced his retirement in 2000, proposed to Yearwood in May in front of 7,000 fans who had come for a tribute to his career at a country-music complex in Bakersfield.
The marriage is the second for Brooks, an Oklahoma native who has three children with ex-wife, Sandy Brooks.
Yearwood was married twice before.
Yearwood, a three-time Grammy winner, released “Jasper County,” her first album in four years, earlier this year.
