City to Borrow Voting Machines for Runoff

Riverside will borrow about 100 touch-screen voting machines with printers from San Bernardino County for the city’s upcoming runoff election, under an agreement approved Tuesday by Riverside and San Bernardino counties’ boards of supervisors.
State law requires electronic voting systems to provide voters with a paper record of their vote.
Riverside County’s electronic voting machine printing systems will probably not receive the necessary state and federal certification in time for the Jan. 17 Riverside City Council runoffs.
