A woman in her early 70s recovering from a sexual assault has provided details of the attack, Garden Grove police said Tuesday.
The woman, whose name was not released, was collecting recyclable cans from a trash bin at Harbor Boulevard and Trask Avenue on May 31 when a man, described as 5-feet-6 and 160 pounds with black shoulder-length hair, physically and sexually assaulted her, police said.
She was found by a worker about 5:30 a.m. bleeding from a blunt force trauma to the head and upper torso and was hospitalized in serious condition.
The woman has now improved enough to be interviewed by investigators, police said.
