Sempra Sees 2006 Profit at $3.20 to $3.40 a Share

Sempra Energy, owner of the largest U.S. natural gas utility, forecast little change in profit next year and reiterated a prediction that earnings would drop in 2005 after 2004’s results were inflated by commodities trading.
Per-share profit in 2006 will be $3.20 to $3.40, Sempra said. The company, which had 2004 net income of $3.83 a share, left unchanged its forecast for this year at $3.10 to $3.30.
Sempra fell 29 cents to $41.98 on the NYSE.
