He hit one out of the ballpark

To paraphrase certain alternatives, “There’s no such thing as a bad column, but some are better than others.”

And Chris Erskine’s column on March 3 [“Swagger of the Girls of Spring”] was a classic.

As the father of two now mid-30s former Little Leaguers and soccer “stars,” and a grandfather of three, I can attest to the accuracy and believability of your exploits as a coach.

I coached everything -- soccer, football, baseball, basketball, track, riding a two-wheeler and shoe-tying.

I have just as much to say but don’t say it nearly as well.

I’m not sure why I loved this installment more than others. Whatever it was, though, thanks. It was great.
