Senior Advisor to Bush Says He’ll Miss Libby

The national security advisor praised ex-White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby on the eve of Libby’s arraignment on charges of obstructing justice, perjury and lying in the CIA leak investigation by Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald. Libby was expected to plead not guilty today.
“Scooter Libby is a fine person. And he served the president and the vice president well,” White House national security advisor Stephen J. Hadley said at a news briefing. “I will miss him as a colleague and as a friend.”
Libby resigned as chief of staff and national security advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney after he was indicted on the charges. Cheney and Bush have also praised Libby.
