Norway’s new prime minister and his center-left coalition government took office.
Jens Stoltenberg and the other leaders were greeted by a cheering crowd as they emerged from the Royal Palace after a traditional meeting with King Harald V, the country’s figurehead monarch. The coalition won a majority in parliament in last month’s election.
