From Times Staff Reports
Authorities on Tuesday were trying to identify the burned body of a woman found in an industrial area.
A transient discovered the remains near 6th Street and San Francisco Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, police spokeswoman Jackie Bezart said.
Police had no clues to the woman’s identity.
Officers were also uncertain whether the death was suicide or foul play.
“We don’t have much to go on,” Bezart said.
Coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said identification would probably have to be done through dental records.
