Knitting Factory shows go to XM

XM Satellite Radio has seven channels for independent and alternative music, and the service has just come up with a way to fill some of that airtime. XM and Knitting Factory Entertainment announced a partnership Tuesday for a regular series of concerts taped at the Knitting Factory rock clubs in Hollywood and New York.
“Live From the Knitting Factory” will begin in the fall and feature “influential and emerging independent music artists from a variety of genres,” the announcement said. The hourlong concerts (which will include artist interviews) will air Friday nights, with repeat broadcasts through the week. The series gives XM a concert counterpart to Sirius Satellite Radio’s “Left of Sessions.”
