Special Election Called to Replace Councilman

A special election will be held June 6 to replace City Councilman Dan Baker, who resigned last week amid questions about co-owning a Missouri apartment building with the police union president.
The City Council could have appointed a replacement, but decided Tuesday night to call the election.
Baker defended his investments with Steve James, saying they posed no conflict of interest despite his vote around the same time for a 21% union pay raise.
