Hit-Run Driver Is Held in Death of Pedestrian

A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed Friday night on South Nogales Street, and the driver of the car that hit her was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP Officer Alex Gonzalez said the woman and a companion were jaywalking when she was hit by a 1994 Nissan driven by a 20-year-old woman.
The driver fled and called her father, who brought her back to the accident about 40 minutes later, Gonzalez said.
