Closing Arguments Heard in Jackson Case

Lawyers in a civil suit between Michael Jackson and a former business associate spent Wednesday trying to persuade a jury that the pop singer is either a “cagey, calculating” manipulator or an “artist without much business acumen.”
At issue is F. Mark Schaffel’s claim that Jackson owes him $1.6 million for production work and loans. In closing arguments, Schaffel’s lawyers showed video of Jackson claiming he could not remember deals with Schaffel, then played a voicemail of Jackson giving him instructions.
